on the birch tree
May study window

sun shines on unfinished wood
around the window

poetry books
and journals

sometimes
a few poems
or many

and sometimes
one poem aloud
a few times

thoughts of a friend
who always loved and grew
I wonder . . . Has the sky
ever been this beautiful a blue?
